Bandbox Wallcovering Cream Puff SCWP88087D0002 by Scalamandre Wallpaper

Bandbox Wallcovering draws its name and inspiration from the oval cardboard boxes first produced in seventeenth century England to hold the large detachable collars worn at the time. These boxes later became popular in America for storing hats and personal items and were often covered in decorative wallpaper, turning utilitarian objects into patterned keepsakes.

Reproduced from an original bandbox in the Scalamandré archives, this design reflects the charm and craftsmanship of early decorative papers. The repeating motif and compact scale create a lively yet orderly surface, making Bandbox an engaging choice for walls in powder rooms, hallways, bedrooms, and intimate sitting spaces. Its historical origin and graphic clarity allow it to bridge traditional and transitional interiors with ease.
